This is Our Creed P1

This is Our Creed
And this is what we call people to believe in
Part one
هذه عقيدتُنا وهذا الذي نَدعُو إليه
Abdulmonem Mustafa Halimah
Abu Baseer Altartousi

In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful the Most Gracious
All praise is due to Allah; we thank Him and ask for His aid and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within us and from the bad consequences of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none will misguide; and whomsoever Allah misguides, none will guide .e

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah; He has no partner. And I bear witness that Mohammad is His Slave and Messenger. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family and companions .e

This is our Aqeeda –creed-; this is what we call people to believe in, and what we strive to do, and inshallah will die doing, and meet Allah believing in this .e

I bear witness -inwardly and outwardly- that Allah is One, Only, and Self-sufficient. He does not beget, nor was He begotten. And there is none co-equal or comparable to Him .e

Allah was there at the beginning of creation alone; nothing was before Him .e

He first created the pen and then the Throne
Then, fifty thousand years before He created the Heavens and the Earth, He decided what people’s fates are and what is going to be until Judgment Day .e

Glorified be He; He has the Beautiful Names and the Supreme Attributes. Nothing is like or even similar to Him or any of His characteristics, attributes, Lordship, or His Divine Deity  .e

As He says in the Quran : { There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.} {Ash-Shura, 42:11}e

We believe in all the Beautiful Names of Allah and His Supreme Attributes which are mentioned in Quran and Sunnah -without false interpretations, without denying them, or likening Him to any of His creation .e

Our Aqeeda as it was the case with Prophet Mohammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and his noble companions { may Allah be pleased with all of them} .e

We also believe that Allah has other Names and Attributes which we do not know of; He kept them in His knowledge of the {ghaib} {Unseen}e
We believe that He is the All-Sufficient; but His slaves need Him. All the creation is dependent on Him and needs Him to sustain it. He is the All-Sustainer over His creation  .e

as He says in Quran : { Allah! None has the right to be worshipped but He, He is the Ever Living, and the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.} {Aal Imran, 3:2 }e
And He says : {O mankind! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise.}  {Fatir, 35:15 }e

And He says : {Allah stands not in need of any of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns)} {Aal Imran, 3: 97 }e

We also believe that Allah is the only one worthy of worship; no deities whatsoever are to be worshipped other than He, because they are creations of His and do not deserve to be worshipped. Therefore, if they are worshipped, this worship is null and false and considered as Shirk {polytheism}e

Allah is the only one who should be obeyed for his sake alone. No one should be loved for his sake only other than Allah. Anything or anybody else is to be loved only for the sake of Allah .e

However, if anything or anybody of Allah’s creation is loved and obeyed for its/their own sake alongside Allah, this is pure shirk polytheism { Loving for the sake of Allah is a sign of the perfection of faith, but loving something alongside Allah is the essence of shirk. The difference between them is that a person’s love for the sake of Allah is connected to his love of Allah; if this love becomes strong in his heart, this love dictates that he will love that which Allah loves. If he loves that which his Lord loves and he loves those who are the allies of Allah, this is love for the sake of Allah. Also, it is worthy of mentioning that natural love, like loving one’s family, friends, etc. is something normal. However, it should not be excessive and exaggerated to the level where they become more beloved than Allah Himslef }e
As Allah says in the Holy Quran : { And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah; and those who believe love Allah more}  { al-Baqarah, 2:165 }e

Allah the Exalted created the creation, sent down the Messengers, revealed the Books to them for only one purpose: that the creation should only worship Allah alone and not associate any partners with Him .e

as He says : {And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone) }  { Al-Dhaariyaat, 51:56 }e

And He says : { And they were commanded that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat and give Zakat: and that is the right religion } { Bayyenah 98:5 }e

And He says : { And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah Alone, and avoid Taghut (all false deities, i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).}  { An-Nahl 16:36 }e

This is what Allah asks from His slaves. And when they do that, He will not torment them in Hell, but will enter them to Heaven .e

Furthermore, Ibada (worship) that should be due to Allah alone is: the comprehensive worship that includes all the words and deeds that Allah loves and is pleased with, both outward and inward .e

As He says : { Say (O Muhammad): ‘Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the Alamin [mankind, jinn and all that exists]. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims } { Al-An’aam 6:162-163 }e

There are two conditions -without which Allah does not accept Ibada (worship)-: first, that it must be purly for the sake of Allah alone, free from the desire to impress others. Second, it has to be permitted by the Sharii . { I.e. it should have a basis in Sharia } e

Allah says : { So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord } { Al Kahf, 18:110 }e

He also says : { Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving } {Al-Mulk 67:2 }e

Salaf scholars explained that “best in deed” is the best in following Sharia and the best in being directed for the sake of Allah only .e

In the authentic hadith, Prophet Mohammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said that: { Allah does not accept the deed unless it is pure and meant for His sake.} {Silsila Saheeha, Albani, no.52 }e

Prophet Mohammad also said, { Allah [Exalted be He] said, “I am  so self-sufficient that I am in no need of having an associate. Thus he who does an action for someone else's sake as well as Mine will have that action renounced by Me to him whom he associated with Me } {related by Muslim }e

These two conditions apply to the single acts of worship. However, another condition should be added to those two when we think of worship of Allah in its comprehensive and wider sense. This is, disbelief in Taghut {l.e.false deities, idol-kings, tyrant leaders ...etc }
and to declare disassociation from all obligations and relations to polytheism, be it outward or inward.  That is because polytheism nullifies and cancels out the good deeds, and makes them unacceptable by Allah .e

As Allah says, { But if they had joined in worship [i.e. associate partners] others with Allah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them} {An’aam, 6:88 }e

He also says,  { And indeed it has been revealed to you [O Muhammad], as it was to those [Allah's Messengers] before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, then surely all your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers}{Az-Zumar, 39:65 }e

Since Allah is the Creator of all the creation, the commanding and control of it should also be His because He knows best about what suits His own creation. Therefore, no other commandment/rule in His creation should be carried out other than His.  If this happens, this commandment is null and rejected .e

Allah says, {Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the mankind, jinns and all that exists} {Al-Araf, 7:54 }e

He also says, { The command [or the judgement] is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him, that is the true straight religion, but most men know not.} {Yousef, 12:40}e

Therefore, Allah’s command and rule is the ultimate justice and the ultimate truth. In addition, it is the best, the most beneficial, and the most applicable. That is why it should be applied, and all that contradicts it is null and rejected as the rule of Jahiliyyah {1-(Day of) ignorance, 2- ruling by other than what Allah has revealed }e

Allah says in Quran, { Do they then seek the judgement of (the Days of) Ignorance? And who is best in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm Faith? } [Al-Maida, 5:50]e

Allah also says, { And Allah judges with truth, while those to whom they invoke besides Him, cannot judge or do anything. Certainly, Allah is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.} [Ghafir, 40:20]e

We also believe in the Unity of Allah in, Tawheed el- Uloohiyya [Unity of Divine Nature/ Unity of worship]e

Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyya [Unity of Lordship], and Tawheed al Asmaa was-Sifaat [Unity of Names and Attributes]. We do not claim that what is called “Tawheed al Hakimyya” [Unity of Judgment or Judicature] is a fourth Tawheed! What we believe is that, part of it goes under the heading of the Unity of Divinity, another part goes under the heading of the Unity of Lordship, and a final part goes under the Tawheed of Allah’s Names and Attributes .e

The reason we stress this sort of Tawheed [Hakimyya] is because we think that our age’s fitnah { Trials, misunderstandings, tribulations } comes from the contradiction of the Tawheed which is due to Allah in judgment. This is by resorting to other rulings and judgment { i.e.to the hakimyya of Taghut } other than Allah .e

We also believe that the true Religion that Allah accepts is only Islam, which is the religion of all the Prophets and Messengers, including Abraham who was “haneef”, which means he was a monotheist not a polytheist .e

Allah says, { Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam }  [Aal Imran, 3:19]e

He also says, {And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.} [Aal Imran 3:85.]e

Our belief is that the differences that exist among the religions sent by Allah are only in the rituals and not the principles of faith,e
as Allah says, { To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but that He may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds. The return of you all is to Allah; then He will inform you about that in which you used to differ.} [Al-Maida, 5:48]e

We also believe and testify that Mohammad is the slave of Allah and His Messenger; and that he is Allah’s Most Beloved Human. He is the best of all prophets and messengers [ peace be upon them all ] Allah sent him as a mercy to all the realms { humans and jinns and all that exists }
giving the good tidings of Allah and warning them against disobeying Him .e

Allah says, {And We have sent you [O Muhammad] as a mercy for the Alamin/realms.} [Anbiya, 21:107].e

He also says, { Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion [of right and wrong, i.e. this Quran] to His slave [Muhammad] that he may be a warner to the Alamin.} [Al-Furqan, 25:1]e

He also says, {This Quran is only a Reminder for all the Alam    in }  [Sad, 38:87].e

Thus, humans and jinns -since Prophet Mohammad’s coming and Prophethood until the Day of Judgement- are to follow him. No one hears about him has the choice but to follow him; otherwise they will be deemed to hell fire.e

He is the seal of the prophets and messengers; there shall be no prophet after him

as Allah says, { Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last end of the Prophets.} [Al-Ahzab, 33:40.]e

So, after his death, if anyone claims he is a prophet, he will be an insolent liar and an infidel apostate.e

We also testify that Prophet Mohammad [peace be upon him] conveyed which was revealed to him from Allah, fulfilled the trust, and strove hard in the cause of Allah in the best manner possible [may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him].e

He is our highest example and our guide to Allah Almighty and the welfare of this world and the Hereafter. There is nothing that would bring us closer to Allah and Paradise but he enjoined upon us, clarified it, and ordered us to do. On the other hand, there is nothing that would keep us further from Allah and bring us closer to Hell fire but he clarified for us and prohibited us from doing.e

He left us on the right and straight path with clear proof   in which there is no ambiguity. No one deviates from it but will be doomed. Moreover, those who follow his way and Sunnah will be safe.e

As Allah says, { Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.}  [Al Ahzab, 33:21].e

He also says, {Say [O Muhammad] to mankind: "If you really love Allah then follow me" [i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah], Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.} [Aal Imran, 3:31].e

Obeying the Prophet [peace be upon him] is a must in all what he ordered and conveyed from Allah. As a result, whoever obeys him is actually obeying Allah. Likewise, whoever disobeys him is actually disobeying Allah.e

We find this when Allah says, { And obey Allah and the Messenger [Muhammad] that you may obtain mercy.} [Aal Imran, 3:132]e

Allah also says, { O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger [Muhammad].} [An-Nisaa, 4:59]e

Allah also says, { and obey Allah and His Messenger [Muhammad], if you are believers.} [Al Anfal, 8:1]e

Allah also says, { O you who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger [Muhammad] and render not vain your deeds.” [Mohammad, 47:33].e

One aspect of being obedient to him {Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him } is to refer to him [his Sunnah after his death] whenever arguments or disputes arise. And whoever rejects his Sunnah and rule, he is actually rejecting Allah’s rule; and whoever does that is a kafir.e

Allah says, { But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you [O Muhammad] judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.} [Al Nisaa, 4:59].e

Allah also says, { And let those who oppose the Messenger's [Muhammad] commandment [i.e. his Sunnah legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.] [Among the sects] beware; lest some Fitnah [disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant, etc.] befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.} [An-Noor, 24:63].e

Allah also says, {It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error.} [Al-Ahzab, 33:36].e

So, everyone -no matter how knowledgeable he is- is bound to make mistakes and be right. Also, he may be followed on a matter, and be disagreed with on another; and it is perfectly fine to tell him he is right in one matter and wrong in another, EXCEPT the Prophet [peace be upon him]. It cannot be assumed but that he is bound to do what is right, correct, and just because he does not behave or say anything out of his own desires,e

as Allah says : { Nor does he speak of his own desire * It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.} [An-Najm, 53:1-2].e

And also because Allah says : { O you who believe! Do not put yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah. Verily! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.e
O you who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds may be rendered fruitless while you perceive not.} [Al-Hujurat, 49:1-2].e
